La fortuna is a town, located in San Carlos, north of the Province of Alajuela, its main attraction is the hot springs, the majesty of the Arenal volcano, adventure tourism and extreme sports such as Bunge Jumping, Canopy, kayak, bridges hanging, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, rafting among others. The Arenal Volcano is listed among the 20 most active volcanoes in the world. You can also enjoy the La Fortuna Waterfalls, the butterfly farm with a great variety of species and the Venado Caves where you can take tours. It has a great hotel and gastronomic offer, and it is an access to the towns of Monteverde and Tillarán, rich in biodiversity and with many tourist attractions.

The La Fortuna Airport is located inside the Atica Restaurant, specifically in the small town of Tanque, about 10km from the city center. You can take a Taxi or Uber, the cost will be between USD $7 and $10 depending on the demand. If you will be staying in a hotel near the Arenal Volcano, the price can cost up to USD $25. For your part, if you want a bilingual driver to be waiting for you at the airport upon arrival, or if you want to be picked up in a comfortable minibus, you can opt for a private transportation for $40 at the time you want.It is always important to emphasize that you must be ready to board at FON Airport no later than 50 minutes before the official time, otherwise the flight may leave without you and you will not get a refund.
